Bonus Tip #8: Cold Morning Golf
When playing in the morning the conditions can change very quickly from cool to warm, here are a few pointers to keep in mind as the conditions change.
- Carry Distance: The ball will not carry as far when it is cooler at the start of the round and you will begin to see your distances increase as the round progresses. Maybe try taking one club more on the first few holes.
- Green Speed: As the round progresses and the dew burns off the greens, you will start to see your putts rolling a little bit faster, keep this in mind for the downhill slider later in the round.
- Layer Up: keeping your body and hands warm during the first few holes will help you with your mobility, but don’t forget to shed them as they may end up restricting you when it heats up.
